Fall 2025

Fall 2025

The maples are starting to blaze red and the birches yellow.  It is nearing the end of blackberry season, but still some good picking in the woods.  The swans are practicing flying for their migration.  And every morning we wake up to a mist as cooler air meets the warmer lake.  It is a magical time up here in the northwoods!

With the Fall 2025 issue of the PCLA newsletter, we are moving to a web-based format (aka a "blog").  We can share more pictures and also provide you easier access to the resources on our website.

In this edition, we cover results of our 2025 Annual Picnic fundraiser and thank our donors and volunteers; share winners of the 2025 Boat Parade, and provide an update on lake megafauna.

Spring 2025

Spring has sprung.... several times so far. After the recent ice storm, I am sure we'll see you outside once the temps increase, splitting fresh wood for the summer bonfires.

The Spring newsletter provides details about our upcoming events: 24 May: PCLA Members Meeting; 21 June: First annual Boat Parade; and 19 July: Annual PCLA Picnic.

In addition, we have an article by Mike Schilz about preventing the spread of aquatic invasives, and a call for inspectors for our 4th annual Clean Boats Clean Waters program.

See you on the lake!

Winter 2024

This year, for the first time, the Town of Townsend is hosting a holiday tree festival.  PCLA has a tree in the line up!  Please check out our Winter 2024-25 newsletter for pictures, and more, including news about aerator installation and the upcoming Wisconsin Lakes and Waters conference.

We've had several weeks of below freezing temperatures and a bit of snow, so the ice on the lake is coming along well.  Not quite frozen over completely, but getting there.  We'll be in touch when it is time to install the aerator fencing.  If you are in town, please join us!  It is fun and pretty fast with a group of folks working together.
